About Media News Today

Christopher Michael McHugh is a media commentator, producer and marketer. He started Media News Today because he wanted to focus on informing people about the future of online media.

McHugh is the author of the book Secrets of Producing TV and Online News and the owner of McQ Marketing Group. His experience includes being a digital marketing manager at two New York healthcare companies, being part of the producer team that launched the Fox Business Television Network, and producing for the top-rated cable television news network in the United States, Fox News Channel.

McHugh ran multiple websites and social media while working at the Aol-Huffington Post Media Group's Patch.com. In addition, he served as a communications director for a New York State assemblywoman.

While at News Corporation, Mr. McHugh started working as an associate producer at Fox News Channel. He then worked his way up to a producer role as part of the team that launched Fox Business Network.

​

At Altice USA, he produced News 12 Westchester and News 12 Hudson Valley newscasts. His regional and local television producing experience includes Regional News Network in New York as well as Illinois ABC affiliate WSIL-TV and PBS affiliate WSIU-TV.

​

Before he moved over to producing, he worked on the production and post production end of the TV industry.

At the age of 16, McHugh started his broadcasting career as an intern at Springfield, Illinois AM radio station WMAY. That led to his first job in radio, while still in high school, working at radio stations Oldies 96.7 and WCVS-AM. He continued his career in radio,

working at full service news/talk/classic country station KMHL-AM, classic rock station WYMG, news/talk station WTAX, and oldies FM station Cool 101.9.
